2022 Wedding Color Palette Trends

2022 needs to be a year full of joy for all, after what we have been living in the past two years, that is why we need to start planning beautiful and fabulous events again. Our work and research of the latest wedding trends never stops and we want to share with you the latest wedding color palette trends.

Monochromatic weddings: just go for one color and use it for every décor element. This is certainly an unexpected and original choice for a wedding event. You can also play with different tones of the same colors. If you want your wedding to be elegant use a soft tone such as pastel blue, a blushing rose or sand color, sage green, light mauve among others. These are colors associated with the ideas of tranquility, relaxation, optimism and hope.

Rust and terracotta tones: they are warm colors, very original for wedding celebration, especially for rustic wedding in beautiful haciendas or country villas. Dark orange and terracotta tones are widely used also for boho weddings in association with white tones.

Greenery tones: green tones are always a good idea for weddings in every season of the year. You can include them in flower arrangements but also as table setting elements or other decorations. You can associate the green tones, such as sage green, emerald green, sea green with other wonderful colors such as light rose, light blue, gold, mauve, blue navy, dusty blue as well. The combination of colors will be amazing!

Neutral colors: if your goal is to have an elegant wedding celebration just go for neutral colors and you will never be wrong. For instance, you can use a champagne color, a blushing rose, ivory a neutral green, sea glass, all tender and relaxing colors for your event. These colors are a perfect match with greenery decoration, the final result will be very elegant.

Gold: if you are looking for a glamorous wedding gold is always an option. We know there will always be couples looking for glamour and posh decorations, so we definitely need to consider it as a must have in this trends list. This year we will see a lot of combinations of gold and neutral colors, such as light grey, ivory and classic white.

Color palettes are a very important choice to make during your wedding planning process, our suggestion is to choose a specific theme and build your mood board around it and the colors will come out by themselves.

Wedding photo sessions are a big responsibility for photographer since they have to create unforgettable and unique memories for bride and groom. In 10 years the couple looking at their wedding photos, they will cherish memories of that day. Here a list of tips on how to plan the perfect wedding photo session:

Consider lighting when scheduling your photo session. Lighting is essential for the result of your photos, a good photographer knows how to use natural light at its best. If you are planning to take photos in an indoor location try to find a spot with large windows.

Make a list of shots that you consider mandatory, not more that 20-25 must-have shots so that you have also time for spontaneity. That way the photographer will know what are the photos he has to take during your photo session. This is crucial and we suggest to talk about it during the meeting you have with the photographer before the wedding. You can also ask the best man or the bridesmaid to help you with the list of mandatory photos. They might help looking for people who might need to be in that specific shot.

Retouch your make up. Before starting your photo session is important to retouch your make-up and hair, since you have already gone through the ceremony, hugged people and run to the photo session location. So you better bring with you your make-up artist or a little beauty-case with mascara, lipstick, powder, your hairbrush, and hairpins.

Make sure to have bride solo and groom solo shots. They should be included in your must-have shots list. Also do not forget the first-look photos, so emotional and intimate moment. This is certainly a great way to represent couple’s feelings on the wedding day.

2021 Wedding Cake Trends

2021 is almost over but we want to make a list of the best wedding cake trends that bride and groom have been following this year.

The use of isomalt in wedding cake as topper or at the side of the cake. Isomalt is a sugar substitute, often used in the pastry industry to creat translucent and magnificent sugar scultures. The effect is extremely dramatic and cakes will look amazing!

Mixed wedding cakes: we have seen several mixed sweet wedding cake this year. The most used sweets are macarrons, cookies, candies, doughnuts and cinnamon rolls. They are quite common

The use of edible flowers: the use of flowers in cuisine is quite common and this year we could experience the use of real blooms in wedding cakes. So let’s put aside the traditional flowers made of chocolate, fondant or sugar, and let’s go for edible flowers.

Brush Strokes cakes: They are brush strokes made of chocolate and edible colours, refrigerated and used to decorate the cake. The effect of this decoration is awesome!

Single-serving wedding cake: This has been a very good option during the COVID-19 pandemic, in line with safety restrictions, since each guest will have his mini wedding cake at his place.

One-tier wedding cake: Due to COVID-19 restrictions people sitched from big wedding with more than 100 uests to small weddings with 20-30 guests. So bride and groom often opt for small 1-tier cake.

Skinner multi-tier cakes: This is connected with the need to have smaller cake without giving up to the classic multi-tier cakes. The advantage is that they are extremely elegant and sofisticated.

Best Spots for Pre-Wedding Shoot in Peru

Did I mention to you how beautiful is my country? I guess tons of times in this blog…the beauties of Peru are those things that push me to keep working on planning destination weddings here! My goal is to have couples and their guests enjoying Peru as much as I do every day. ? One of the best opportunities couples have to enjoy Peru is during the days before and after the wedding. What best of a pre wedding shoot to have some beautiful memories of your Peru destination wedding? That’s the moment where you can take casual and romantic photos in beautiful scenery without the wedding dress, which could be a bit bulky.

Pre wedding photo shoots have become an integral part of all the wedding photo package, you can also choose to add a distinctive touch to our shoot, including special props and elements related to your love story or your life. The sites of the shooting are also a big factor for creating beautiful memories, and in Peru you have many of them.

Elegant Destination Wedding Inspiration

Few weeks ago we had the opportunity to plan an elegant wedding in a charming oceanfront location nearby Lima and we felt in love with the decoration details. This wedding was all about flowers arrangements, flower centerpieces and a beautiful flower and foliage arch for the ceremony. The stunning venue did its part too, since all these elements combined with the location made everything even more perfect. Here I want to give you an idea of how the decoration details bride and groom choose really made a difference in creating the atmosphere they were looking for.

When I received the call from the couple, I immediately understood that they were looking for a special location and this is really one of a kind. That is why I proposed them this beautiful oceanfront villa with romans architecture pieces, a little pool and a beautiful garden area. I also understood they were looking for an elegant wedding with a Peruvian touch, so me and my team tried heard to propose them little but meaningful decoration details.

First, the charming and elegant arch! This was a super fluffy arch with foliage and flowers as ceremony backing. It was a great choice to have the ceremony in the evening under a beautiful sunset. The sunset light combined with the arch really created an outstanding atmosphere for unforgettable photos.

As I said above, this wedding was all about flowers. Apart from the arch, the beautiful flower arrangements at the center of the buffet table added an elegant touch to the wedding reception.

The bar was one of a kind with the beautiful eucalypt foliage backing, highlighted by hanging light bulbs. At the side of the bar we placed two big flower arrangements, to create a perfect symmetry. The effect was very elegant and romantic.

Another beautiful decoration detail was the ceiling of the tent, which mixes foliage dangling lianas with ivory fabric.

The table set up was very elegant, with a beautiful white, ivory and light pink roses with foliage, white tablecloth and crystal dishes with golden border. The chairs chosen for the reception were golden tiffany chairs with white cushions.

The tree in the reception area was decorated with hanging jars with white candles, another elegant touch.

On the wooden table for the sweets we placed a huge flower arrangement in ivory, light pink tones with foliage with truffle towers and little traditional Peruvian sweets.

Also the cake was very flowery, a beautiful three-tier with the top tier covered in gold fondant and decorated with white, red and gold flowers.

How to Design a Wedding Mood Board

Nowadays planning a wedding could be a bit challenging, due to the enormous variety of existing wedding themes, trendy color palettes, wide range of flowers available, multiple table arrangements ideas, etc. That’s why we always suggest our couple to start from a wedding mood board, a collection of pictures from other weddings with ideas, colors, decorations they might like. You don’t know what a wedding mood board is? Ok, let’s start from the very beginning. A wedding mood board is the visual representation of your wedding, which should reflect your vision and inspiration. It should contain specific ideas, details and elements that must be included in your wedding design.

Making a mood board is not an easy task! We know that with Internet you have access to thousands of wedding ideas, wedding trends and so on, so you might need to spend a bit of time surfing the net and collecting ideas.

First step: questioning! Start asking yourself the basic questions, such as: When do I want to get married? Where am I going to get married? How many guests do I have? Among others. Try to answer these questions before designing your mood board.

Second step: choose your wedding theme, such as rustic, classic, glamourous, shabby, boho, etc.

Third step: it’s time to choose your color palette! Look into color palettes websites, there are many available. You can create your palette from an image, you have tons of options.

Fourth step: Once you have a clear the wedding theme and the color palette you can start selecting more specific ideas searching the net. Try to divide idea, that will help you narrowing down the selections you make. For instance, you can divide your search in categories: wedding cake, table flower arrangements, ceremony arch, table settings, flower bouquets, etc.

Fifth step: Once you have your first selection, try to narrow down the pictures you selected at first. For instance, if you have 5 flowers bouquet, reduce the selection to two options. I know this is not easy, but you have to try, otherwise you’ll end up having too many ideas on the table and this could be confusing.

Sixth step: create the mood board. You can use the tool you prefer, from Power Point to a simple Word, where you can paste the pics. Today we have other app and software you can use for creating your mood board. Pinterest is the one we use the most. It is very useful and efficient since you can share the board you create with your partner and work together. If you have a wedding planner, you can also share the board with him/her.

Seventh step: check everything once again and see if you need to make any change or cut some ideas. Kee in mind that less is more, so try to include very specific details.

I think that the mood board is a very effective way to plan a wedding, it makes things easy for us and for the couple itself. You should try to stick with the mood board and try to analyze any new idea considering the mood of your board. I mean if you want a classic ivory peonies bouquet, but you are planning a glamorous wedding with red roses flowers arrangements, you should probably stick to red roses bouquet. So, this tool will definitely help you out in the planning process. Also, it will reflect your idea, what you envision for your wedding and you must share it with your wedding suppliers so that they have a real sense of what you want for your special day.

The Ultimate Wedding Catering Check-list

Choosing your wedding caterer is a very important decision. Always remember that when it comes to food for your special day you must think twice before making a decision, and firstly you must taste the food. Food is essential for wedding reception, it is something that your guests need to enjoy, so have a big eye opened on this during your wedding planning process. Remember that the food has to be delicious and mouth watering for your special day!

Also, keep in mind, that usually your wedding caterer will not only provide the food for the reception, but they will also supply the tableware, silverware, they will stock the bar and manage the flow of the lunch/dinner.

Here a list of things you should consider when it comes to wedding catering:

Are you looking for a specific kind of food for your wedding event? If this is the case just select a little group of caterers that can provide that food. For instance if you opt for organic food, or vegan food or only fresh/raw food, or fast food style meal, or food trucks style meals, etc. These are filters you should definitely apply in case you have clear the kind of food you want to offer to your guests.

Once you are almost sure on your caterer decision, start asking for references. It is important that you understand what kind of chefs they have in their staff, as well as the waiters they have, how do they handle last minute issues (there are always issues to solve when it comes to wedding), what are their management and planning skills, among others. If there are negative comments on one or more of these elements, do not choose this catering company and keep searching the perfect one for your event.

Make a decision on the kind of meal you want to serve. Do you prefer a served meal or a buffet style one? This decision is important for your caterer, it makes a big difference in terms of organization, equipments and also for your budget.

Once you book the catering supplier, always revise the contract carefully before signing it. And try to negotiate some items if you do not fully agree with them well in advance.
Have a tasting included on the final price you are paying. It is your right to taste all the food they are going to serve on your wedding day free of additional charges, from the appetizers to the desserts.

If you are planning a destination wedding it is important that you consider that your guests coming from abroad would love to taste traditional food of the country you have selected for your wedding, so include some traditional dishes, but still do not forget to include some basic continental-style dishes that your guests are familiar with, in case they are not brave enough to try a foreign dish.

Do you have people with food allergies, vegan guests, vegetarian guests, guests who can only eat gluten-free food or no diary food? You should comunicate well in advance this to your caterer and provedie special menus.
Are there kids? Prepare a list for your caterer so that he/she can supply enough meals for kids, including french fries, hambueguers, pasta, pizza, basically things that kids love and eat pleasantly.

Prepare a list of beverage and cocktails you want to serve to your guests and make sure that the bar is properly stokked based on the number of your confirmed guests.

Ask your caterer to have some late night snacks ready and coordinate with them the exact hour you want them to serve the snack. The snack could include little hamburguers, french fries, or some kind of little canape. This is totally up tou you and your caterer skills.

Always keep in mind that without good food, any celebration is basically incomplete. So have a big eye open on the catering choice during your wedding planning process.

Bridemaids’ Duties on the Wedding Day

Here we try to figure it our what are the bridesmaids’ duties for the actual wedding day, what are the specific tasks you should perform if you have been asked to be a bridesmaid for your friend’s wedding and you have no idea of what you can do to help and support her on this special day. Think of it about the ultimate checklist for Bridesmaids’s wedding day duties.

So after supporting the bride during the wedding planning process, the wedding shower and wedding side-events your job hasn’t finished yet, there is still the big day with the wedding ceremony and the reception to go. So be ready to be there for the bride! Here a list of duties for the wedding day:

Try to keep a calm and happy atmosphere among the other bridesmaids and the bride throughout all the day: this is extremely important since your friend will need your emotional support on the wedding day, remeber that she will be nervous!

Try to be on-time for the bride’s hairdresser and make-up artist appointments, it could be at the saloon/spa or at her house or ceremony venue, but be there on time.

Prepare an emergency kit for the bride; this should include tissues, lipgloss/lipstick and other make up she might need during the day for a touch-up, a sewing kit in case of last minute dress retouches or for any wedding dress problems may arise, quicksilvers are also essential in my experience and very practical. Also, include in the kit some basic remedies, such as aspirin. It is important to be prepared!

Do not forget the snack and a bottle of champagne for the bride and the other bridesmaids while you’re getting ready. This is very important also for creating a relaxing atmosphere before the ceremony.

Get dress and ready before the bride to help her into the bridal gown. This is one of the nicest moment for the pre-wedding photography session, so make sure that the photographer is there to document this special moment.

During the ceremony keep an eye on the bride’s veil, it should be placed in the right way (depending on the veil usually it could go on a side or in the aisle) for the photographer to take great pictures. Seat in the front by the bride’s side and be ready for the procession back out at the end of the ceremony.

Be prepared with the wedding party to enter the reception area right before bride and groom once you are announced. So do not get lost during the cocktail hour, nobody wants to look for you in that moment and bride and groom won’t be eager to wait for you!

You might need to give a speech after bride and groom arrival at the reception venue, this actually depends on the bride’s choice. So be prepared for it and have your speech ready before the wedding day, considering that this day you will probably have no time to organize your idea and write down something. You can note down on a piece of paper your ideas or on your cellphone, or just memorize it. It is up to you!

Try to be the soul of the party and make sure that all the guests are having a great time! So, once the music kicks in, start dancing on the dance floor, so that people will join you and the party will easily start. Also try to mix with the guests and make sure that people are entertained. This will help bride and groom to relax and have fun.

Help with any surprise you prepared for the reception and party time, any entertainment show, special dances, flashmob, etc.
Help with the newlyweds exit at the end of the reception gathering the guests outside and have the car ready for them to go away.

A Charming Oceanfront Wedding Proposal

Last year we decided to lunch a new product considering that we understood that many couples traveling to Peru for fun and visiting the country wanted to make their trip very special and come back home with everlasting memories. We received many requests for organizing wedding proposals in special settings in Peru, so we decided to take care of this special and significant part of love stories as well. Actually, this is where everything begins: the wedding proposal!

Few months ago we had the chance to plan a charming wedding proposal for a young couple who decided to spend few weeks in Peru on holiday. It was all a big surprise for the bride-to-be and we secretely coordinate and plan all the details with her fiance. All the process was soooo detailed-oriented that we definitely understood what was the atmosphere he wanted to recreate for this special moment and we proposed to host the event in a beautiful oceanfront house along the Pacific coast. The house is located south of Lima, and it is a short car ride from the capital city.

Among the details we had to take in account there was the music, the food and champagne for the toast, the romantic decorations (rose petals, flower arrangements), a photographer, and everything could have helped recreating the atmosphere he was looking for.

We loved being part of this special moment, we loved the bride-to-be’s face when he went on his knees and asked her to marry him, we loved the venue and the music! Of course she said yes!

It was such a special moment for this young couple and we understood how important is all the work behind this! They will remember this moment forever and they will tell the future generations about it. Peru will always have a special place in their heart and be very meaningful for their relationship.

Here a list of things we planned for this special event:

We found the perfect venue, a beautiful house located south of Lima with a balcony and a little swimmingpool overlooking the Pacific Ocean. In few words the venue was perfect for the occasion. After the proposal the couple went for a little photo session on the beach and the photos are amazing! We really loved the venue choice!

We had a photographer to capture the very special moment of the wedding proposal! He was obviously hidden behind a wall, as we were at the beginning when they got into the house. We believed that they wanted to have vivid memories of the moment and share them with their family and friends who couldn’t join them for the wedding proposal.

We had a singer with an acustic guitar to recreate a romantic atmosphere and play a meaningful song for the couple.
