Terracotta Wedding Inspiration

feature image blog

Terracotta tones are one of the 2022 wedding trends, which means that we will see many desert tones, dusky pinks and several shades of brown and toffee in wedding decoration this year. Usually, a terracotta wedding is ideal if you have in mind a boho wedding, those colors really suit the boho style.

Let’s start with the bridesmaids’ dresses. You have a wide range of options to explore: from light brown to an intense rusty color, from dusky pinks to a light rose, from sand color to light orange. You have many different tones that you can also mix up together to create a multiple tones effect.

Bridal flower bouquet is also very important. Choose romantic flowers as peonies, roses, dahlias. If you want to create a rustic effect you can also think about using dried flowers. You can also add greenery, remember that sage green with terracotta tones is a perfect match.29D92D34-3E8D-4729-81BE-E282B07712BD

As for decoration, you should think about table setting first. For instance, you can consider using runners on the dinner tables and special tables, such as buffet or sweet tables. You can use different fabrics to create a boho or rustic effect, such as rustic cotton, linen or velvet. Also, here you can mix and match different tones in line with your wedding color palette. Other decoration elements you can consider are nametags, floral centerpieces, napkins, vases, lamps, candles.

Another important item is the wedding invitation. There you will give a sense of the wedding theme to your guests, so choose the invitation design carefully. Use the right font, the more romantic the best, the right terracotta tones and do not forget about the paper and how the colors look like on it. So try to do some samples before making your final decision. 02-Boho-Terracotta-Invitation

In case you plan to have a backdrop for a photo booth, do not forget to use your terracotta tones palette and add some deco elements such as pampas and light rose or desert tones flowers.

Finally, you can also have a terracotta tones wedding cake, with rust and orange shades. You can use color blocking style, or also add a touch of gold to decorate the cake, or add some desert tone blooms on top for a more elegant option. Additionally, you can go for a classic white wedding cake and just add some terracotta decoration or a beautiful topper in terracotta shades. You have plenty of options for cakes!

Getting Married During COVID-19 Pandemic

Meet-Cute-scaled

Covid-19 pandemic has hit wedding industry badly, but as people are getting vaccinated and we have more weapons to fight against this pandemic we can also start planning small and middle-size gatherings. Many couples are now scheduling their weddings, booking services and the wedding planning coordination is starting again. However, we should consider that there is no “zero risk” event anymore, what we can do is to limit the risk and take all the necessary precautions.

One thing we know for sure: weddings will be different but we will keep creating unique experiences for our couples.

pexels-emma-bauso-2253870

Here some useful tips if you are planning to get married in 2021 or 2022:

  • Try to opt for an outdoor venue, in case you choose an indoor venue make sure there is the right amount of windows for ventilation purposes and that it’s big enough based on the number of your guests.
  • Reduce the guest list and opt for a mid-size event instead of a big wedding.

jonathan-borba-F8-B78_gf7U-unsplash

  • Live-stream your wedding, for people who do not feel safe to come, people that you had to cut from the guests list for COVID reasons, or people who are doing a quarantine can be there with you.
  • Plan the seating arrangements smartly so that your guests will have the right security distance and there are no more than 8 people at each table. You might want to place at the same table people from the same household and do not mix people.
  • Use signals on the floor to make people aware of the distance they have to keep at the buffet table or at the bar. Try to personalize them based on your wedding theme.
  • Create one or two “sanitizing station” where your guests can find hand sanitizer and masks. Also place a basket with those items in each bathroom.

  • Encourage your guests and wedding suppliers to do a COVID-19 test 24 hours before the wedding. You can also make arrangements and pay them. Depending on the country a negative test could be mandatory to take part in indoor event.

  • Send your guests the safety protocols to follow few days before the event to make sure that everybody is on the same page and avoid misunderstandings.
  • After the wedding keep track of your guests and make sure to have all the contact numbers of guests and suppliers in case of unexpected COVID-19 cases.
  • Las but not least get yourself a wedding planner, you will really need it now.

The Ultimate Wedding Catering Check-list

wedding catering

Choosing your wedding caterer is a very important decision. Always remember that when it comes to food for your special day you must think twice before making a decision, and firstly you must taste the food. Food is essential for wedding reception, it is something that your guests need to enjoy, so have a big eye opened on this during your wedding planning process. Remember that the food has to be delicious and mouth watering for your special day!

catering buffet

Also, keep in mind, that usually your wedding caterer will not only provide the food for the reception, but they will also supply the tableware, silverware, they will stock the bar and manage the flow of the lunch/dinner.

catering table

Here a list of things you should consider when it comes to wedding catering:

  • Are you looking for a specific kind of food for your wedding event? If this is the case just select a little group of caterers that can provide that food. For instance if you opt for organic food, or vegan food or only fresh/raw food, or fast food style meal, or food trucks style meals, etc. These are filters you should definitely apply in case you have clear the kind of food you want to offer to your guests.

catering food

  • Once you are almost sure on your caterer decision, start asking for references. It is important that you understand what kind of chefs they have in their staff, as well as the waiters they have, how do they handle last minute issues (there are always issues to solve when it comes to wedding), what are their management and planning skills, among others. If there are negative comments on one or more of these elements, do not choose this catering company and keep searching the perfect one for your event.

catering staf

  • Make a decision on the kind of meal you want to serve. Do you prefer a served meal or a buffet style one? This decision is important for your caterer, it makes a big difference in terms of organization, equipments and also for your budget.

catering

  • Once you book the catering supplier, always revise the contract carefully before signing it. And try to negotiate some items if you do not fully agree with them well in advance.
  • Have a tasting included on the final price you are paying. It is your right to taste all the food they are going to serve on your wedding day free of additional charges, from the appetizers to the desserts.

wedding catering reception

  • If you are planning a destination wedding it is important that you consider that your guests coming from abroad would love to taste traditional food of the country you have selected for your wedding, so include some traditional dishes, but still do not forget to include some basic continental-style dishes that your guests are familiar with, in case they are not brave enough to try a foreign dish.

buffet

  • Do you have people with food allergies, vegan guests, vegetarian guests, guests who can only eat gluten-free food or no diary food? You should comunicate well in advance this to your caterer and provedie special menus.
  • Are there kids? Prepare a list for your caterer so that he/she can supply enough meals for kids, including french fries, hambueguers, pasta, pizza, basically things that kids love and eat pleasantly.

catering kids

  • Prepare a list of beverage and cocktails you want to serve to your guests and make sure that the bar is properly stokked based on the number of your confirmed guests.

catering drinks

  • Ask your caterer to have some late night snacks ready and coordinate with them the exact hour you want them to serve the snack. The snack could include little hamburguers, french fries, or some kind of little canape. This is totally up tou you and your caterer skills.

Always keep in mind that without good food, any celebration is basically incomplete. So have a big eye open on the catering choice during your wedding planning process.

Details you Cannot miss while Planning your Wedding

wedding planning 2

We are used to talk about wedding etiquette a lot in reference on what you should do and what you shouldn’t during your wedding planning process. We all know that planning a wedding is a big, let’s say huge, thing! And sometimes leaving apart some details can definitely happen. That is why we are here! We will provide you with a complete list of little details that you shouldn’t miss while planning your wedding, think about this as a wedding essential little details checklist, a part from the big items such as decoration, flowers, cake, church, priest or officiant, this is a very imporant list of details you should take in account.

wedding planner

It often happens that between a wedding cake tasting, the wedding dress shopping, the venue hunting, you can miss the little things. Never forget that in weddings every detail counts! And your guests will definitely appreciate it! Let’s be honest your guests can also be judgemental when it comes to weddings, they will compare your wedding with theirs (if married), they will look into the details and they notice if there is something missing or something wrong … this is part of the game guys. So better be prepared!

  • Escort Cards: it is important that every guest has his own escort card, never forget to include one of your guest. Go through the complete list of invitees hundred times if necessary, check that all the guests’ names are spelled correctly and that they are assigned to the right table. Also, try to design escort cards in line with your wedding color palette and put them at the reception entrance. They need to be easy to find and the tables chart needs to be self-explanatory. You do not want that your guests get frustrated while looking for their escort cards.

  • Wedding website: nowadays it is essential to have a wedding website. It has to be useful for your guests in terms of including wedding ceremony/reception venue address, the wedding exact timeschedule, the dresscode if any, and any relevant information. In this article you will find all you need to know to set the perfect wedding website: http://blog.sayidoinperu.com/tips-perfect-wedding-website/ Remember that if you are planning a destination wedding, the importance of the website actually increases, considering that here you can include travel tips and recommendations for your guests, flight and accommodation information, restaurants recommendations among others.

Wedding-webside

  • Nice favors: this is another important details! It is a way to let your guests know how thankful you are that they made it to your wedding! So choose nice favors, possibly in line with your wedding theme (if any), and put them on a nice table so that your guests can grab a favor before going away. It is very common today to opt for edible favors, such as a little bottle of wine, a little pot of jam or honey. Your guests they will definitely love it and use it!

Nice favors for weddings

  • Have a Plan B: this is essential especially for outdoor wedding. So have a well planned contigency plan in case of bad weather, your guests will not appreciate being outside under the rain for your wedding ceremony or reception. It would be awkward!

Wedding planning

  • Food allergies: check with your guests if they have any food allergy or if there is any vegetarian/vegan among them, so that you can arrange a special menu for them. Once you have this clear, provide a complete list tou your caterer, highlighting the names of the guests and the tables where they will be seated. This is a nice touch that your guests will definitely appreciate.
  • Suppliers food: take in account that also the suppliers you selected for your wedding need to eat, so order some additional meals and pay for them in advance. You do not want to deal with this issue during the wedding reception.

Catering for wedding

  • Music list: provide a detailed music list to your DJ or music band, include songs that you love it and that are meaningful for you and let them understand what are your favorite music genres. Specify to your music vendor the song you want him/her to play and when. I am referring to your reception’s entry music, your first dance song for instance. Also take in account your guests’s music tastes if you want them to have fun.

As you can see planning a wedding is a huge thing and sometimes is not easy at all to have every detail under control. Try to make lists of things you should look into and ask for help! That’s one of the best tip we can give you, always have someone, such as a wedding planner or a family member or a friend, able to look into these details with you. Four eyes see more than two!

Here we try to figure it our what are the bridesmaids’ duties for the actual wedding day, what are the specific tasks you should perform if you have been asked to be a bridesmaid for your friend’s wedding and you have no idea of what you can do to help and support her on this special day. Think of it about the ultimate checklist for Bridesmaids’s wedding day duties.

So after supporting the bride during the wedding planning process, the wedding shower and wedding side-events your job hasn’t finished yet, there is still the big day with the wedding ceremony and the reception to go. So be ready to be there for the bride! Here a list of duties for the wedding day:

  • Try to keep a calm and happy atmosphere among the other bridesmaids and the bride throughout all the day: this is extremely important since your friend will need your emotional support on the wedding day, remeber that she will be nervous!

  • Try to be on-time for the bride’s hairdresser and make-up artist appointments, it could be at the saloon/spa or at her house or ceremony venue, but be there on time.

  • Prepare an emergency kit for the bride; this should include tissues, lipgloss/lipstick and other make up she might need during the day for a touch-upa sewing kit in case of last minute dress retouches or for any wedding dress problems may arise, quicksilvers are also essential in my experience and very practical. Also, include in the kit some basic remedies, such as aspirin. It is important to be prepared!

braidmaid duty 2

  • Do not forget the snack and a bottle of champagne for the bride and the other bridesmaids while you’re getting ready. This is very important also for creating a relaxing atmosphere before the ceremony.
  •  Get dress and ready before the bride to help her into the bridal gown. This is one of the nicest moment for the pre-wedding photography session, so make sure that the photographer is there to document this special moment.

View More: http://maikdobiey.pass.us/wedding-annamarco

  • During the ceremony keep an eye on the bride’s veil, it should be placed in the right way (depending on the veil usually it could go on a side or in the aisle) for the photographer to take great pictures. Seat in the front by the bride’s side and be ready for the procession back out at the end of the ceremony.

Bridemaid with bride

  • Be prepared with the wedding party to enter the reception area right before bride and groom once you are announced. So do not get lost during the cocktail hour, nobody wants to look for you in that moment and bride and groom won’t be eager to wait for you!

View More: http://maikdobiey.pass.us/wedding-annamarco

  • You might need to give a speech after bride and groom arrival at the reception venue, this actually depends on the bride’s choice. So be prepared for it and have your speech ready before the wedding day, considering that this day you will probably have no time to organize your idea and write down something. You can note down on a piece of paper your ideas or on your cellphone, or just memorize it. It is up to you!

View More: http://maikdobiey.pass.us/wedding-annamarco

  • Try to be the soul of the party and make sure that all the guests are having a great time! So, once the music kicks in, start dancing on the dance floor, so that people will join you and the party will easily start. Also try to mix with the guests and make sure that people are entertained. This will help bride and groom to relax and have fun.

View More: http://maikdobiey.pass.us/wedding-annamarco

  • Help with any surprise you prepared for the reception and party time, any entertainment show, special dances, flashmob, etc.
  • Help with the newlyweds exit at the end of the reception gathering the guests outside and have the car ready for them to go away.

So bridesmaids to be, we hope that this article can help you have your duties clear and be a real supportive rock for the bride during her special day!

An Oceanfront Peruvian-Style Destination Wedding

beautiful wedding on the beach

Credits: Photographer Lara Momentos

A couple of weeks ago we had the opportunity to be part of an amazing wedding celebration nearby Lima. The venue of the event is one of the best we have ever seen in Lima area. It is a beautiful Roman Empire style house located on a rock in front of the Pacific Ocean, few kilometer south of Lima city. The ceremony area was basically a cliff on the Pacific Ocean and all you have in front of you was the immensity of the sea. We loved so much the atmosphere of this event we planned, we were totally merged in a special setting rounded by the Ocean breeze! Guests were deeply amazed by the view and the outstanding details of the wedding event.

We know that for many destination weddings guests coming to Peru from abroad have high expectations on the event and the trip abroad. They are excited for the wedding event itself plus they have a big curiosity of learning more about the Peruvian culture and meeting local people. That’s exactly what happened during this event, a lot of good energy and vibes coming from the guests who really wanted to have fun in a traditional Peruvian style setting.

peruvian reception decoration with colourful style

beautiful folklore decoration for wedding

Bride and groom opted for Peruvian decorations, in the traditional vibrant colors: yellow, red, blue, green, pink and purple. We included colorful fabrics for the buffet table, the dessert table and the cheese table, colorful flowers in high vases as centerpieces, Peruvian red, orange and yellow aji peppers and native potatoes bouquets as flower decorations, cascading pompoms inside the reception tent, little llama as table nametags and Peruvian fabric embraided tote bags as wedding favors in perfect Peruvian style. So, every elements of the decoration was perfectly in line with the main theme of the event: a Peruvian style destination wedding!

The food was also in line with the theme: little “tamales”, baked potatoes with “ocopa” sauce, steamed rice with corn and parsley, “aji de gallina”, “lomo saltado” among other traditional dishes. The perfect celebration of Peruvian traditional “criolla” cuisine!

wedding cake based on turron and elegant world cake

Bride and groom also wanted to include a very special cake, a part from their three-tier classic wedding cake. They decided to have a two-tier “turron de Doña Pepa” cake, which is a sweet traditionally eaten in October, the month of the “Señor de los Milagros”, a holiday month in Peru. This delicious sweet is made of anise cookie bars and a sticky delicious syrup and topped with candy sprinkles. It is an explosion of tastes, highly addictive…I can swear! ?

It was such a privilege for us to be part of such an amazing celebration and we loved all the planning process, since we felt that we put together a perfect Peruvian traditional wedding with a very special modern touch.

The Importance of Flower Decorations for Outdoor Weddings

flowers decorations

Flowers decorations are key for outdoor wedding celebrations, they bring that bucolic touch to the event bride and groom are looking for. If you are planning an outdoor wedding you want to get married in an open space, in the middle of nature, in a beautiful garden with trees all around, in the middle of a valley with the Peruvian Andes as background or on the beach with the Pacific Ocean at the back. But in few words, what is important to you is: to be rounded by nature!
beautiful skyview for weddings

Lately we organized a charming outdoor destination wedding in Lima, in a beautiful villa on the top of a hill where you could appreciate Lima’s skyline! The event was not properly in the middle of nowhere or into the wildest nature ever, but we tried to recreate the bucolic atmosphere with flower decorations. We know that nothing is impossibile when it comes to bride and groom’s wishes! 🙂

flower decotations for outdoor weddings

So we tried to incorporate in the decoration several flowers elements, such as swing decorations, little flore arrangements for the ceremony path, and we also include a tree decoration for the cheese table. The atmosphere was really magic, a real fairy tale.

flowers decorations for ceremony

For the ceremony we used swing decorations, three big flower arrangements and several white babiesbreath arrangements for the path to the ceremony.

cheese table decoration

The imponent tree decoration was set right in the middle of the cheese table, rounded by bread rolls, olives, dry and fresh fruit and obviously many different kind of delicious cheese.

sweet table decorations for wedding

For the dessert table we use a huge flower arrangements on the green tones. We placed right behind the wedding cake. It looked amazing! The cake was a naked ones with red berries and topped with one of the cutest cake topper we have ever seen. The little sweets placed all around were the perfect complements for the beautiful flower arrangements.

bar decorations with wood and flowers

Where we could not use flowers we decided to use wooden elements, such as for the bar and the beers station. Foliage, flowers and wood were the main carachters for this wedding event.

reception table decoration for wedding

The reception table was a long squared table for about 30-35 people, with a long flower arrangement on the white and green tones. Actually the mise en place of the table was really simple but the main character was the flower arrangement for sure. We rounded the reception table with swing flower decorations, to complete the natural feeling of the area.

fun with weddings

The beautiful swimming pool also helped us including another nature element: water. Obviously at the end of the part bride, groom and guests jumped into the pool. It was a lot of fun!

This wedding really helped us understanding that nothing is impossible when it comes to wedding events, and that the importance of flowers decorations is really undisputed. We loved playing with flowers and wooden elements to recreate the atmosphere bride and groom were looking for.

Five Welcome Table Ideas

Welcome Table Ideas

The most challenging issue for modern bride and groom is to have some original and special element in their wedding. Originality and brand new ideas are valuable when it comes to wedding celebrations. Never forget that! Welcome table is a very important decoration element for your event, considering that it is the first decoration your guests will bump in when they enter the reception area after the ceremony and we can say that it’s the first impression they get of your wedding. So be very careful about the items, such as tablecloths, frames, letters, flowers you place on it and the color palette you use, that obviously need to stay in line with your color palette.

Here I will give you few tips and suggestions to have a unique and creative welcome table for your special day:

guest book instrumentsCredits: Photography by Christina Ahlheim

1. If you are deeply attached to some items, a box, a musical instrument if you are both musicians for example, you can definitley make this object your guestbook. Your guests can sign the item, write their best wishes and dedicate you some nice words. This is a customized option and you will definitely have a valuable memories of your special day.

wooden heart-shaped pieces – guest bookCredits: aLovelyDetailCo

2. Another nice idea is to have a frame filled with little wooden heart-shaped pieces. Your guests can sign one of the little heart and perhaps include a little inscription for you and place it inside the frame. This is an original idea, ideal for rustic wedding, where wood is the main decoration element. This is actually a more romantic idea compared with the first one I gave you above, once you have this frame you can hang it up on the wall of your newl-weds home.

Jenga blocks as guest bookCredits: Photography by Christina Ahlheim

3. Another funny idea is to use Jenga blocks, so that your guests can sign a block and place it on top of the structure. Try to choose a jenga with clear blocks, this way would be easier for your guests to write on them. If you use a colourful jenga provide sharpies of different colors (clear and dark colors).

puzzle guest book

4. Another creative idea is to create a puzzle out of a nice photo of you both. Your guests could sign a piece and try to assemble the pieces of the puzzle to reach the goal of having a portrait of you. This way you will have a personalized puzzle for the rest of your life, it will be a very nice memory of your wedding celebration.

guest book polaroid

5. A very creative idea is to place on your welcome table a guestbook that your wedding guests can sign it, but a part of the classic inscription, you can put a polaroid camara and adhesive tape at the side of the book, so that your guests can take an instant picture of them (like a selfie or any other funny pic), stick it on the guestbook and write something for you. This is basically a modern version of the traditional guestbook. Also, another suggestion I have is that you can have one or two strings between two trees or poles where your guests can hang up the funniest pictures of the event. This way you will definitly have funny memories of your wedding!

Dessert Table is Becoming a Must Have!

dessert table deci

If there is something I have clearly understood in the last years as wedding planner is that an amazing wedding cake, displayed in the right way, rounded by other mini-desserts, cupcakes, chocolate truffles, macarons, cookies and more will seriously impress your guests. A well done dessert table, with the right selection of sweets, the appropriate decoration will become the most frequented spot of the reception. People will look at the sweets as child thinking on which sweets to pick. Among them you can opt for cupcakes, truffles, cookies, cake pops, macarons, candies, jelly beans, little tarts, chocolate bars, etc.

Here few tips:

* Personalize your dessert table, based on guests’ tastes and yours as well. For instance if you are into chocolate, go for chocolate truffles, little chocolate cookies, chocolate cupcakes, chocolate cake pops etc.dessert table of chocolate

* Balance the selection of desserts with the wedding cake flavor. If you opted for a chocolate cake, avoid to choose more chocolate sweets.

selection of desserts

* Use decoration in line with your color palette. If you selected green tones, use green elements on top of the desserts, for the frosting tones, for the cupcakes wrappers, for the tray, the dessert labels, etc.

decoration with dessert table

* Use cake stands, tiers servers, pedestals and plates of different sises but try to find a sustantial armony in the entire design idea of the table.

cake stands

* Use inedible elements just as backing or at the sides of the table, such as balloons, paper rosettes, ribbons, flower arrangements, etc.

flower arrangements

* Nice to have: a little coffee and tea station next to the dessert table, take-away boxes, so that your guests can decide to take away some of the desserts adn/or a piece of cake.

Considering that we are in Peru, give your dessert table a special twist adding Peruvian traditional sweets, such as “alfajores” and “suspiro a la limeña”.
