Five Welcome Table Ideas

Welcome Table Ideas

The most challenging issue for modern bride and groom is to have some original and special element in their wedding. Originality and brand new ideas are valuable when it comes to wedding celebrations. Never forget that! Welcome table is a very important decoration element for your event, considering that it is the first decoration your guests will bump in when they enter the reception area after the ceremony and we can say that it’s the first impression they get of your wedding. So be very careful about the items, such as tablecloths, frames, letters, flowers you place on it and the color palette you use, that obviously need to stay in line with your color palette.

Here I will give you few tips and suggestions to have a unique and creative welcome table for your special day:

1. If you are deeply attached to some items, a box, a musical instrument if you are both musicians for example, you can definitley make this object your guestbook. Your guests can sign the item, write their best wishes and dedicate you some nice words. This is a customized option and you will definitely have a valuable memories of your special day.

2. Another nice idea is to have a frame filled with little wooden heart-shaped pieces. Your guests can sign one of the little heart and perhaps include a little inscription for you and place it inside the frame. This is an original idea, ideal for rustic wedding, where wood is the main decoration element. This is actually a more romantic idea compared with the first one I gave you above, once you have this frame you can hang it up on the wall of your newl-weds home.

3. Another funny idea is to use Jenga blocks, so that your guests can sign a block and place it on top of the structure. Try to choose a jenga with clear blocks, this way would be easier for your guests to write on them. If you use a colourful jenga provide sharpies of different colors (clear and dark colors).

puzzle guest book

4. Another creative idea is to create a puzzle out of a nice photo of you both. Your guests could sign a piece and try to assemble the pieces of the puzzle to reach the goal of having a portrait of you. This way you will have a personalized puzzle for the rest of your life, it will be a very nice memory of your wedding celebration.

5. A very creative idea is to place on your welcome table a guestbook that your wedding guests can sign it, but a part of the classic inscription, you can put a polaroid camara and adhesive tape at the side of the book, so that your guests can take an instant picture of them (like a selfie or any other funny pic), stick it on the guestbook and write something for you. This is basically a modern version of the traditional guestbook. Also, another suggestion I have is that you can have one or two strings between two trees or poles where your guests can hang up the funniest pictures of the event. This way you will definitly have funny memories of your wedding!

  1. Bride and groom cannot see each other before the wedding! This is a classic superstition. Bride and groom can see each other only before the midnight of the wedding day; otherwise you have to wait until you are at the altar.
  2. The groom cannot see the bride’s wedding dress before the ceremony, this means very bad luck! So you brides to be, do not allow your future husband into your room the night before your wedding or in case he is around and you cannot avoid it hide your wedding dress somewhere else safe (your closet if it fits or somebody else’s room).

  3. On the wedding day the bride must have something old, something new and something borrowed. Something old symbolizes the past and the importance of bride’s previous life; something new symbolizes the future and the new married life ahead; finally something borrowed would ideally be from a family member or a close friend, someone who has a real meaning for the bride. Something borrowed symbolizes that loved people are always with us, even when we start a new phase of our life.
  4. There is also another theory according to which the bride needs to wear something blue on the wedding day. This could be an invisible blue ribbon on bride’s bra, a bracelet with blue details, but it is very common that the bride wear a blue garter under the wedding dress. The blue symbolizes bride’s sincerity and purity.
  5. The bride cannot look herself in the mirror before going to the ceremony, in case she cannot avoid doing so she needs to take off a shoe or an earring or some other accessories.

  7. While going to the ceremony venue the bride must not cross a nun or a monk’s path, this can bring you very bad luck!
  8. During the ceremony keep an eye on your wedding rings! It is extremely important that they do not fall on the ground during the wedding ceremony. In case this happens you must have the priest or your officiant to pick them up. Do not pick them up yourself!

  9. Break a glass once married! According to this belief you will have many happy years of marriage as the pieces the glass breaks into.
  10. There are different theories on the best day of the week to get married. Usually it is known that you should not get married on Tuesday or Friday. Tuesday is the day of Mars, the god of the war so it is obvious that when you are starting a marriage you want to avoid any kind of fight. And Friday is known as the day of the birth of the evil spirits, so you might want to avoid this day too. But it is actually relative, since in some country as Norway, they believe that Friday is an excellent day to get married because is the day of Venus, the God of love. Saturday is the perfect day to get married according to many cultures, which is why the majority of the weddings take place on this day.shutterstock_127839878 (1)

Four Ways to Prepare your Guests for a Peru Destination Wedding

View More: http://maikdobiey.pass.us/wedding-annamarco

If you decided to get married in a remote, wild and stunning place far away from home the first thing you need to make sure of is to prepare your guests for your destination wedding! So in this article I want to share with you some useful tips on how to prepare them, I am especially referring to your direct family and close friends. There is always a bit of “fear” of the unknown that you should deal with, when you announce your destination wedding in a country such as Peru. Many of your guests might not be expert travelers or might not know Peru at all, except for Machu Picchu of course. Some of your guests are not really into traveling, while some others might be extremely excited by the idea of discovering a new place, it really depends. Obviously this is also related to the average age of your guests; if you are dealing with young guests in their thirties for example they would be most likely thrilled by the idea of a new place to discover, since they have an inclination to travel abroad and they are used to. If you are dealing with older people, the excitement for a trip abroad may vary; there would be a bunch of people eager to a new experience and some other who are not so excited by the idea. To deal with this issue here some tips to consider before sending out your wedding invitations:

  1. Talk to your direct family and close friends before sending the invitation. Avoiding the surprise effect could be a good advantage for you, since they will have time to think about the idea and to process it. This is also a way for you to make sure that they are able to attend your wedding and they will understand how important their presence is to you for your special day. They will understand that it is sooooo important that you are also eager to sacrifice your venue and location idea for them to be able to attend.GUESTS FOR A PERU DESTINATION WEDDING 1
  2. Send your invitation in advance: once your family and close friends know about your decision it is time to send the invitation to all the guests on your lists. It is essential to send the invitations out at least 8-10 months in advance, remember that this is not a classic wedding celebration, this is a destination wedding and people need to start planning in advance. They need to check their finance first and see if they are able to attend or if they need to start saving money for a couple of months, they need to start checking their flights and plan everything accordingly. So send the invitation quite in advance!GUESTS FOR A PERU DESTINATION WEDDING 2
  3. Create a website for your wedding celebration: in my opinion this is mandatory! Your guests will be lost at the beginning so a website is a very useful tool to share information efficiently. It is important that you include there all the information that they need such as: international flights, airport pick-up options, accommodation options (Hostal, Hotels, private houses, etc.), activities, restaurants recommendations, tours options and other travel tips. Since this is a destination wedding you might want to create a specific itinerary for your guests, including some sort of tours, activities, parties, dinners, etc. So all this must be included on your website. Remember to constantly update your website and be in touch with your guests if they have questions and need advices.GUESTS FOR A PERU DESTINATION WEDDING 4
  4. Welcome your guests: they will have to make travel arrangements to attend your special day, they will have to spend money and you have to show them that you really value that. It is a nice way to welcome them properly. For instance you can prepare special welcome bags that they will find in their hotel room on arrival. You can fill this bag with local products, for example in Peru you can include a bottle of Pisco, Peruvian “canchita” (corn), Peruvian coffee and much more. I have already talked about welcome bags here. Other way to welcome them is to organize a welcome dinner or a welcome cocktail in a special place, which will give your guests time to socialize and relax after their trip.

What you should always keep in mind is that this is not a classic wedding, this is a destination wedding and it is important to consider it this way; your guests will need advices and information on the country and you are the host here and you need to answer them. I always suggest my couples to work with us also for the travel arrangements part, since this would avoid a lot of stress for them; guests could bombard you with questions of any kind which sometimes you are not even able to answer. So it is always better to rely on professional travel experts, who will make your wedding planning process and your entire life much easier before your wedding day.

Five Centerpiece Ideas for your Wedding Reception

featured image

Centerpiece is always going to catch the attention of your guests, so in this article I’m going to give you 5 tips for picking the perfect flower centerpiece for your reception tables.

1Looking at the color tones is essential, especially considering the venue you pick. It could be a beach wedding, an outdoor wedding, a hacienda wedding or a wedding in a Hotel ballroom, and there are color schemes that are more suitable for an outdoor wedding than for a wedding hosted in a hotel ballroom for example, so keep this in mind! You can certainly use light colors for your flower centerpiece for an outdoor or a beach wedding, and intense color tones if your wedding will be hosted in a ballroom.

Five Centerpiece Ideas for your Wedding Reception #2Also remember that the centerpiece plays an important part in your wedding photo session so try to combine it with other colors elements, such as your bouquet, details of your wedding dress, colors of your bridesmaids’dress, etc.

3The type of flowers to choose is also another detail you should consider. First of all you should get information on the types of flowers available on that season and in the country you decided to get married. As for Peru I always suggest to brides to opt for Peruvian flowers, which are exotic and very colorful. Brides usually love them!

Five Centerpiece Ideas for your Wedding Reception #4It´s not necessary to spend a lot of money in flowers, you can have a great result using a lot of greenery for example. This could be a good option if your budget is not so flexible.

Five Centerpiece Ideas for your Wedding Reception #5Flower vase is another element you should select, this choice is important since this complements how your centerpiece will look like. So consider the size, the color, the material and the decoration. All these details need to be in harmony with the venue and the color palette you chose.

How to plan the Perfect Father/Daughter Dance on your Wedding Day

View More: http://maikdobiey.pass.us/wedding-leigh-luis

The father and daughter dance is always a very special moment, when teary eyes are guaranteed. It is extremely emotional for the bride and her father, and all the wedding guests can feel the intensity of the moment. There is a high possibility that after this dance you will have to retouch your make-up, depending on the things your father tells you. Generally before this dance I always look for my make-up bridal survival kit, so that I have it with me in case the bride needs to fix her make-up.

But how can you choose the perfect song for this dance? In my opinion the right song for a father/daughter wedding dance needs to have the following elements: it has to be a sweet song, not romantic since this is not the man you just married; it has to be meaningful, which means that it has to recall memories and moments you shared with your father during your childhood for example; also it has to be a beautifully written songs with awesome words and melody; it has to deliver the following message: “I appreciate our relationship, you always took good care of me and I know you will always do, and if I am here today it is also because of you”. In other words this is not an easy choice to make at all.

You can choose the songs on your own, trying to surprise your father and all your guests or you and your dad can make the choice together. You can actually do it both ways, the most important thing is that you go for the right song.View More: http://maikdobiey.pass.us/wedding-annamarco

Here a couple of tips I came up with after the father and daughter wedding dances I have seen so far:

  • Use a shortened version of the song: your guests will love to watch you and your father dancing on the dancefloor but not for more than 2 minutes, since they will also be hungry after the ceremony. So, ask the Dj to prepare a shorter version of the song you wish to use for that specific moment.
  • Practice with your father: even if you think that the surprise factor would be great for your dad, I suggest you to practice before the wedding day to avoid any jitters and awkward moves. The best thing you can do is to ask for help to a professional. Remember that a choreographed dance always looks better.

  • Choose the song together: you can ask your father to give you some ideas because this song should reflects the love you have for each other and it should be meaningful for both of you. So it is important to involve your father in this choice too.
  • Use a medley: In case you and your father have different opinions on the song to dance, or you have two or three favorite songs, you can always create a medley, start form the slowest and peaked with the most vibrant song at the end. But remember do not make it too long!
  • Share the dancefloor: this is a good tip especially for those who feel uncomfortable dancing alone in the middle of the dancefloor in front of all your wedding guests. After the first minute you can ask the Dj to invite all other couples to join you and your dad on the dancefloor and you can also switch partners and invite your mom dancing with your dad for the rest of the song.

  • Be able to think about the next moment: we all know that this is a special moment and you and your father will yet few tears, but you got to be able to think about the next moment of your wedding celebration and have fun.

Finally, try to live this moment at the best, since it really means a lot to your parents, your mom will also enjoy watching you and your dad dancing on the dancefloor and you will remember it forever.
